We have recently been recognized by the Wisconsin RtI Center in Reading at the Bronze level for our work toward fully implementing a school-wide framework that, according to national research, leads to improved student outcomes.

By establishing this framework, we increase consistency of effective instruction, build staff knowledge and skills so they can support all learners, use data to proactively identify and provide support for students, and create a culture that supports stronger relationships with students and their families.

"Serve with Passion to Ignite Creativity, Innovation, and Excellence"

The West Salem School District is committed to providing excellence in education for our children and our community. The recently developed mission statement Serve with Passion to Ignite Creativity, Innovation, and Excellence provides the basis for achieving our vision.

Our new mission, vision, values and strategic plan were developed in response to community input and through community participation. We remain committed to working closely with our community in the coming years to continuously improve upon our performance and make our new vision a reality.

Thank you for your service, participation, and ongoing support of our school district.

Serving with Passion…
Troy M. Gunderson
