ELISABETH GRAMS

Hello there!

My name is Elisabeth Grams, and I am a kindergarten teacher at West Salem Elementary School. I graduated from Luther High School and then proceeded to attend Viterbo University, where I received my Elementary Education degree with a minor in Early Childhood Education. During high school and college, I worked at the Swarthout Pool as a lifeguard, swimming teacher, and swim team coach, making me fall in love with the West Salem community. While at Viterbo, I was fortunate to also student teach at WSES. I knew then that if I ever had the opportunity to work in this wonderful district, I would!

After graduating in 2011, I taught 3K/4K for the Aquinas School District for a time, then accepted a long-term substitute position in the spring of 2012 at Lawrence-Lawson in Sparta, WI, where I stayed from 2012- 2016 as a kindergarten teacher. An opportunity opened before the start of the 2016 - 2017 school year at West Salem for a teaching position. As much as I would miss the staff, students, and families in Sparta, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to teach again at West Salem! It truly is a one-of-a-kind district and community, and I am so proud to be part of it.

I went back to school to continue my post-graduate learning with a focus on professional development in reading education. I graduated from UW-L in December of 2021 with a 1316 Reading Teacher license and a Master of Science in Education degree.

I live on the south side of La Crosse with my husband (Bryce), my two boys (Ethan and Aiden), my little dog (Lily), my big dog (Auggie), and my cat (Leo). We are a very active family and love to be outside playing at as many parks as we can get to in a day, going for long walks, riding our bikes to Riverside Park for a stop at the Friendship Garden (and maybe a little ice cream from The Pearl!), playing in our backyard, swimming, fishing, hiking, and finding as many adventures as possible in our beautiful community.

I look forward to a wonderful school year ahead and making many great memories of teaching our students at WSES!  🐾
