As Wisconsin marks the 7th anniversary of its texting while driving ban this December, today our high schoolers learned about the importance of keeping their eyes on the road, and off their phones, during a presentation sponsored by AT&T, AAA and the Wisconsin State Patrol called "It Can Wait."
They watched a video entitled, "The Last Text" about individuals and families whose lives were ended or drastically changed due to someone's decision to text and drive. Several students also participated in a distracted driving simulator, which allowed them to see first-hand the dangers that using their phone while driving can cause.
At the end of the presentation, all students were encouraged to take the pledge to never drive distracted and reminded that #ItCanWait
