School District of West Salem Announces Virtual Open Forum with Superintendent Candidates

April 28, 2020, 5:00 p.m.-The School District of West Salem announced today that the three finalists for the superintendent position will participate in an Open Community/Staff Forum as part of their final interview process. The Forum will take place Wednesday, May 6, 2020 beginning at 6:00 pm.

In addition, for those who want to submit questions to the candidates prior to the May 6 interviews they can email them to supesearch@wsalem.k12.wi.us.

After viewing the forum, the school board welcomes your feedback by completing the survey below. It will become active on May 6 and close at 4:00 p.m. on May 7. You only need to complete the survey once for all three candidates.

Due to social/physical distancing guidelines, the forum to meet the finalists will occur virtually via Facebook Live. The link to watch/participate in these live interviews can be found on the School District of West Salem web site – www.wsalem.k12.wi.us and on the School District of West Salem Facebook page beginning at 6:00 p.m. on May 6. Parents, students, community members, and district employees are invited to participate.

For those who participate via Facebook Live, links will be made available to submit questions to the candidates and to leave comments for the Board of Education members. A recording of these interviews will also be available by accessing the District’s web page or Facebook page. The interviews will be posted after the final live interview is over and will remain on the pages until 4:00 pm on Thursday, May 7. Community members, parents, students, and staff who choose to watch the recorded version of the interviews will still be able to leave comments to the Board of Education until that time.

The District hopes that these accommodations will allow people to participate from the comfort of home and feel safe in doing so while adhering to the state-wide guidelines for social distancing.
