Altra Federal Credit Union and the Altra Foundation believe in the power of giving back. We encourage our staff and members to build strong communities through volunteer efforts. In alignment with this mission, the Tom Brock Community Service Scholarship recognizes and rewards young members who have demonstrated a dedicated history of community service.
In his remembrance, this scholarship was named in honor of Tom Brock, the first Altra Foundation Board Chair, who was instrumental in the formation of this scholarship. Throughout his personal and professional life, Tom was dedicated to serving others in the community. His legacy of service lives on through this scholarship, which supports the next generation of community-minded individuals.
To be eligible, applicants must be active members of Altra Federal Credit Union and have a proven track record of volunteerism and community involvement. This scholarship aims to empower young leaders who are passionate about making a difference and who, like Tom Brock, are dedicated to serving others.
The Altra Foundation has been granting scholarships since 2004, and has awarded 278 scholarships, for a total of $197,000.
The Altra Foundation Community Service scholarship application and requirements are now available here: https://altra.secure-platform.com/scholarships/page/Scholarships/CommunityService. The application must be completed by February 21, 2026.
