TRACY HESSE
Hello!  Welcome to Mrs. Hesse’s Home Page...

I'm glad you were able to stop by for a visit.  Hopefully you will find the classroom information you need.

I started my teaching career in Cashton, Wisconsin as a math Title I teacher for grades 5 – 8. During my two years in Cashton, I did a lot of team teaching in the lower grades. In 1999, I was hired to teach fourth grade at West Salem.  I love teaching this age group and curriculum.

I grew up in West Salem and my husband grew up in La Crosse. We have two beautiful girls. We enjoy spending our summers traveling and visiting family. The girls like to be in the garden and swim in the pool during the summer.

I enjoy being outside: gardening, sitting by water/beach, and hiking in the woods.  When the weather doesn't cooperate, I enjoy creating scrapbooks, reading a 'mindless' book and watching the girls play.

Why did you become a teacher?  I always knew I wanted to be a teacher from a very young age.  However, I had some very inspiring teachers in elementary school here at West Salem who made a positive influence which made me want to go to college and become a teacher at the elementary level.

What do you love most about the West Salem School District?  I love the small town feel and that I have this amazing opportunity to teach in my hometown.  I enjoy sharing the history of West Salem with my students and sharing stories of what it was like when I was growing up.  The community is very supportive of education and  I enjoy teaching in the same district my children attend.

A little more… I live just outside West Salem in Barre Mills. My husband and I have 2 beautiful daughters.  We enjoy watching our children dance and play sports.  During the summer we take short weekend getaways and we usually take a longer vacation, as well.  We also spend time on the river fishing, camping or tubing.  I enjoy reading as many books as I can in the summer while also gardening in my many flower beds.
