My name is Mrs. Jeranek. I have been teaching 6th Grade Social Studies at WSMS since 2017. Prior to 2017, I taught 5th Grade at WSES for 9 years.
My family consists of my husband, Paul, and my two children, Alex and Natalie. I enjoy spending time with family, golfing, home improvement projects, outdoors, and spending time on our boat!
In 6th Grade Social Studies we learn about Ancient Civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome, which surround the Mediterranean Sea Region. Students explore geography, social classes, conflicts, governments, and achievements of these areas through various texts, research and projects. In 6th grade SS, we use a lot of our ELA strategies to understand ancient times and relate that knowledge to modern day.
